Every fall our Sunday worship series is matched to a small group study. This year we will be talking about Micah. Living about 800 years before Jesus, Micah spoke about the emptiness of religion that did not foster social responsibility in the community of nation and city. He particularly spoke of the importance of valuing mercy, justice and humility. His dream for a more God-centred society built on these values is the theme of our eight-session common curriculum this year.
One reason we build this into our church plan is to promote involvement in our Life Groups at Spring Garden Church. Life Groups consist ideally of 8-12 people who meet regularly (most commonly once every two weeks) for study, discussion, prayer and mutual support. If you are not part of a small group and would like to get better connected to the church we highly recommend that you consider using this common curriculum study to discover if a Life Group is a good connection for you. Sign up sheets are available at the welcome desk.
We are always on the lookout for people who would enjoy leading or facilitating a small group. If you are interested in trying this, speak to any of our pastors who can introduce you to one of our Life Group Team members. We will be offering training for leaders at noon on Sunday, Sept. 22.
