Gene began his ministry at Spring Garden Church in December, 2002. He grew up in Tennessee, but is now an ardent Canadian. Gene and his wife, Debbie, have two adult children, Mike and Andrea. Some of his interests outside the church include reading mysteries, making and listening to music (he plays guitar and saxophone), and painting. Gene has served as pastor to several Baptist churches in Ontario since 1977, and loves being a pastor.

Greg Kay B.Re., M.Div
Worship Pastor
Greg was born in North York, the son of Vern and Kathy Kay and brother of Glenn. Greg, his wife, Monica, and daughter Chloe live in North York. He graduated in 1997 from OBC (now Tyndale College) with a Bachelor of Religious Education. He also studied Jazz Performance and Arranging at Humber College, graduating in 2001. Greg has recently completed his Masters of Divinity at Tyndale Seminary.

Rev. Margaret Sutton B.A., M.Div.
Pastor of Pastoral Care & Seniors
Margaret and her husband, Gerry, have two daughters, Corinne and Andrika, and are proud grandparents of Ethan Michael. She graduated from Ontario Theological Seminary in 1996 and was ordained here at Spring Garden Church in 1999. Her passion is to help people in crisis to depend on God through prayer ministry and bible study. Margaret enjoys a good book, cake decorating, and opportunities to serve and resource others in her community

Joanna James
Discipleship Assistant – Ministry to Children, Youth and Parents
Jo is excited to serve here as she helps with the discipleship ministries for families. She and her husband Jesse have been attending Spring Garden since August 2008 when they moved to Toronto Ontario. Jo has her BA in Religious Studies and is currently working on her MDiv in Spiritual Formation When she’s not studying, she loves turning old junk into art, painting her house and running with her husband on the Don Valley trails.

Jay McIntyre
Office Administrator
Jay has been involved in ministry since 2001, Jay attended Capernwray Bible School and also spent time as a staff member working with the various ministries that take place there. He comes to Spring Garden after three and a half years with The Scott Mission, working as the Boy’s Club Coordinator. His hobbies include playing hockey, running, photography and playing guitar. Jay, his wife Michelle, and daughter Rylie and son Nathan are excited to be a part of the Spring Garden Family.

Marilyn Muller
Discipleship Pastor
Marilyn was born and raised in Southern Saskatchewan, but has had the privilege of living and traveling in many other parts of the world. She is thrilled to be a part of the Spring Garden family and looks forward to serving families here in Toronto. She is in the final stages of completing her MA in Leadership from Briercrest Schools, and has a passion for leadership development. She has had opportunity to work with the marginalized – widows and orphans in Africa, and desires to see everyone, young and old, rich and poor, understand the God-implanted “gold” in each of them. Some of Marilyn’s hobbies include gourmet cooking (especially desserts!) and writing.

George Pyke
Property Manager
George was born and raised in North York and has been part of the Spring Garden Church staff for over 20 years. He came to Spring Garden following work in another church here in Toronto, so he came to us “experienced”. His responsibilities include all maintenance and property care issues both inside the building and outside. He is also responsible for our properties at 106 and 110 Spring Garden.
